Wedding Coordinator Allerton Park and Retreat Center Allerton Park and Retreat Center is now accepting applications for a Wedding Coordinator to be responsible for coordinating the logistics of weddings and events including policy interpretation, preparation of budget and executing contracts. In collaboration with the Retreat Center Manager, the Wedding Coordinator will perform all duties involved in each phase of planning and implementing weddings and events at Allerton Park and Retreat Center.
Duties & Responsibilities: - Consult with clients to execute and secure contracts for weddings and events; maintain client information within the Allerton system.
- Advise and direct clients throughout the planning process to develop their events while using independent judgment to determine whether their requests are within the best interests of Allerton.
- Direct and coordinate services for events such as accommodations, facilities, catering, signage, etc. Work closely with clients to ensure exceptional execution of their event with attention to detail and concern for the needs and wants of the customers, while also considering costs and budget restraints.
- Assist the Retreat Center Manager with special events at Allerton including but not limited to; Allerton Supper Clubs, Holiday Showcase, Holiday Affair, and other special events that are planned and executed by Allerton.
- Collaborate with Allerton staff and other vendors in the overall event development and management to ensure that events are organized, efficient, and meet the needs of customer.
- Assist the Retreat Center Manager, as needed, in the coordination and execution of corporate retreats and meetings.
- Collaborate with the Allerton team to plan and create sales initiatives.
- Serve as a representative of Allerton at bridal shows and other events that will drive business to Allerton.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, Student Affairs, or a closely related field.
- One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in Events Planning, Conference Management, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or any other related field.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in the hospitality/tourism/travel industry.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Attention to detail as well as strong organizational abilities.
- Fundamental knowledge of the principles and best practices of the sales and event execution processes.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Weekend and evening work is required and will average two Saturdays per month.
Appointment Information: This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5009 - Events Administrator Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. Minimum salary for this position is $43,000.00. We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements.
