Job Description

Business Technology Integrators (BTI)  in Upper Marlboro, Maryland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer with a full CCIE certification to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on expertise in designing, configuring, and managing complex network environments. This role demands not only technical proficiency but also exceptional leadership and communication skills, as the candidate will be expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide consultative guidance to clients, and lead network projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Network Design & Architecture:

    • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level network solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and technical standards.
    • Provide advanced troubleshooting and optimization of networks, utilizing deep knowledge of routing, switching, and network security protocols.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop comprehensive network strategies and solutions that support scalability, security, and performance.
  2. Configuration & Implementation:

    • Configure and implement various networking solutions, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
    • Perform network upgrades, patch management, and system optimization to enhance reliability and performance.
    • Provide hands-on expertise in complex environments involving multiple vendors, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
  3. Leadership & Consulting:

    • Act as a consultative leader, providing technical direction and guidance to clients and internal teams.
    • Lead network-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior network engineers and team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  4. Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

    • Offer tier-3 support for network issues, troubleshooting and resolving complex problems in high-pressure environments.
    • Conduct root-cause analysis for network issues and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.
    • Ensure all networking components are compliant with security policies and standards, and proactively address any vulnerabilities.
  5. Documentation & Communication:

    • Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including design diagrams, configurations, and project reports.
    • Communicate complex technical solutions and issues to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to ensure alignment on network strategy and operational needs.
  6. Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

    • Stay up-to-date with emerging networking technologies, tools, and best practices to continuously improve network performance and security.
    • Propose innovative solutions that address business needs, streamline processes, and enhance overall network architecture.

Required Qualifications:

  • CCIE Certification: Full CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) certification is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of hands-on experience working with enterprise network infrastructure, including extensive experience with routing, switching, firewalls, and network security.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of network protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, and VPN technologies.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams, provide consultative advice, and foster a collaborative working environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in multi-vendor environments with a strong emphasis on Cisco products and solutions.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking technologies and integration (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and performance optimization techniques.
  • Experience working with large-scale enterprise networks in sectors such as healthcare, finance, or government.
